GALAHS

Galahs frequently visit my backyard, and I really enjoy their company despite the raucous they cause . When not looking for snacks in the form of seeds on the ground, these vivacious and intelligent birds frequently engage in playful behaviour which is fascinating to observe.

Female galahs have red irises, distinguishing them from their male counterparts, which have black irises, which can been seen in the pair below enjoying seeds from a bird feeder.
