LITTLE CRYSTAL CREEK FALLS

Although the drive up through the windy roads of Paluma Range National Park is somewhat hazardous, Little Crystal Creek Falls remains one of my favourite waterfalls around Townsville, Queensland. In the dry season the waterfall is a mere trickle, however, as you can see in this photo, the copious rain of the wet season brings the waterfall to life. The slippery rocks downstream of the waterfall forms natural water slides, and the rock pools are excellent for a swim to cool off from the tropical heat.
