ROSS RIVER DAM SUNRISE
ROSS RIVER DAM SUNRISE
The 8.4km of earthen embankments surrounding Ross River Dam, the primary source of water for Townsville, Queensland, provides a wealth of landscape and wildlife photographic opportunities.
By far the most dramatic sunrise I witnessed at Lake Ross, this ethereal scene was formed by the rising sun illuminating distant clouds, bathing Lake Ross in stunning golden light. I have chosen to capture this scene as a panorama at 80mm, allowing the viewer to feel as though they are right there in the moment.
This rock wallaby is an example of the many wildlife inhabiting the area around Lake Ross. These creatures are very shy, and seems to be most active around dawn and dusk.
