MOTHER AND JOEY

I encountered this mother kangaroo and her joey whilst mountain biking towards Long Ridge Lookout at Mount Osmond Reserve, Burnside, South Australia. Initially shy, they became less wary of my presence after I dismounted and crouched down, and I was able to capture this family portrait using a 24-70mm lens, the only lens I was carrying at time. Purple wildflowers were blooming abundantly, adding a pop of colour to this scene.
